Deafblind UK wins the ScottishPower Foundation education award!

Our education project won the ScottishPower Foundation Education Award! We had a fantastic time at the awards ceremony in Glasgow earlier this month, and are absolutely over the moon to have won the award.

This project, which is part-funded by the foundation, aims to give every child the very best start in life, both academically and socially. We are producing a range of resources to give teachers the confidence and information to fully support students with sight and hearing loss in the classroom.

"We truly believe that every single child should have an equal chance to learn and have a meaningful education, despite their sight and hearing loss. Winning this award means that we can support even more students and their parents to get the education they deserve,” said Steve Conway, CEO of Deafblind UK.

The prize money will fund development of video resources to help teachers make their classrooms more accessible.
